The Music Department at A&P are pleased to invite everyone to our Good Friday service on Friday March 29th, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. The A&P Choir will perform Handel’s Messiah together with Ensemble Caprice and with wonderful soloists from our choir, led by conductor Léa Moisan-Perrier. The Messiah is one of music history’s most revered works and has been immensely popular since its premiere in Dublin during Holy Week in 1742. It is a large-scale choral work that tells the story of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as depicted in the Bible. The text for Messiah was compiled by Charles Jennens, who drew extensively from the King James Bible.
The oratorio is divided into three parts:
• Part I: The Prophecy of the Messiah’s Coming
• Part II: The Passion and Death of Jesus
• Part III: The Resurrection and Final Triumph
We hope you will come and join us as we perform this dramatic story told through Handel’s sublime music.
Free will offering (30$ suggested).

The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul invites you to attend our upcoming Lunch & Learn, “Modern Homelessness Services.”
We see the homeless all around us. Why are they here? Where did they come from? What help is available to them? James Hughes, dynamic President and CEO of the Old Brewery Mission, will address the topic of homelessness in our city at a Lunch and Learn on Sunday, April 14th, at 12:00 p.m. in Kildonan Hall. Mr. Hughes will focus on how the Old Brewery Mission and its partners are re-shaping themselves to take on an increase in both the number and the complexity of homeless people in our city.
Hosted by the Guild, the Pastoral Care Committee, and the Ministry Committee. Please register in advance with Jim MacKinnon at bandjmackinnon@gmail.com no later than April 7th.

If you are interested in discussing the lack of connectedness in our society and have a desire to feel part of our church community on a deeper level, you might be interested in joining a new group at A &P called Communitas.
The first session of Communitas will be held on Sunday morning, April 21 at 9:30 a.m. in the Session Room. It will be led by A&P member and Montreal psychologist Dr. Tara Wilkie. Dr. Wilkie holds a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from McGill University. The focus of the first session will be self-awareness and its importance in building community. We are indebted to Tara for sharing her expertise with the A&P Community.
This small group fellowship will provide, we believe, a wonderful opportunity to connect with A&P friends.
Communitas is a Latin noun commonly referring, either to an unstructured community in which people are equal or to the very spirit of community itself.
Hosted by the Ministry Committee.

Historians tell us that both Pontius Pilate and Jesus road into Jerusalem at the beginning of what Christians would later acknowledge as Holy Week. Two leaders, two triumphal entries, two very different kingdoms.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our February Vigil, "Light in the Darkness" this month. It was a beautiful and hopeful concert where comfort and catharsis coexisted. This concert was given in support of the Douglas Foundation for Mental Health Research and Care.
