Col John Bourne, the HCol of the Regt, in the late 60s and early 70s served with the First Special Service Force. I believe he eventually commanded the 3rd Bn of the FSSF and was instrumental in the success of the operation leading to the capture of bridges over the Tiber in Rome.

I do beleive it was RSM "Tiny" Beacon who served in The Devils Brigade"
