Regret to announce the recent passing of Ron Oliver in Nova Scotia following cardiac surgery.

Ron was a soldier in D Company, 2nd Battalion, in Germany. While there he was selected for officer training and was subsequently commissioned into 1st Battalion in 1963. A few years later he transferred to the Royal 22e Regiment with whom he served for the remainder of his military career.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Oliver, in Halifax.
Dear husband of 47 years of Janet (nee Jardine). Father of Marie-Aline (Michael), Jaron (Tracy), Adena (Patrick) and Keilah.
Grandfather "Grampy" to Lauren, Erik, Taryn, Raelyn, Nicolas and Clara.
Predeceased by parents, Lloyd Oliver and Ila (nee McMillan) and sisters, Marilyn and Carol. Will be missed by countless extended family
across Ontario to Nova Scotia.
Ron was born in Woodstock, Ont., growing up in southwestern Ontario. He served his country in a 50-year career with the Canadian Military and the Public Service. The Black Watch and Royal 22nd Regiments (Van Doos) took him across Ontario, Que., peacekeeping in Cyprus, England, N.B. and back to Ontario and Ottawa. The ocean called Ron's name and he retired with Janet to their dream home in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton.
A family service will be celebrated on Monday at his home in Sydney Mines. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Cardiac Units of Halifax Infirmary or Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines
