Black Watch Friends:
Regret to report the recent passing of Stan Gordon in Oromocto.

Stan served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders as part of the First Canadian Highland Battalion which became First Battalion, Black Watch RHC when he returned home from Germany. He later remustered to the Army Service Corps and was posted to Ottawa where he drove for the Prime Minister of Canada and for Queen Elizabeth on her visits to Canada. He Subsequently remustered to RCEME and retired as a sergeant at Base Gagetown.


Stanley James Gordon
1934-2015

It is with deep sadness that the loving family of Stanley James Gordon announces his passing at the Oromocto Public Hospital on October 11, 2015, at the age of 81. Born in Halifax, NS, on September 7, 1934, he was the son of the late James and Sarah (Martell) Gordon.

Stanley is survived by his wife Barbara; sons, Paul Gordon (Theresa) and Doug Gordon; daughter, Lois Ross (Bobby); brother, Harry Gordon (Carolyn); grandchildren, Claire, Alyssa, and Lindsay (Caleb). Stanley will also be missed by 3 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Stanley is predeceased by his brother Frederick and sister Lillian.

There will be no visitation by request of the family. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 11:00 am with Fr. Lance Magdziak as celebrant. The family invites you to a reception in the church hall following mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stanley’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Oromocto Funeral Home. 357-5100
