Regret to report the passing of Nick Nicholson in Oromocto yesterday.
Nick served with Second Battalion, The Black Watch RHC from the late-50s (B Company) through Germany and Cyprus (1970 A Company).
He re-badger to RCR in 1970 and remained in Gagetown with 2RCR.
On Saturday, July 16th, 2016 at the age of 78, Edward Clifford Nicholson of Lincoln, NB, passed away at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on May 9th, 1938 in Halifax, NS, he was the husband of Joan (Hanlon) Nicholson.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, Joan, Ed is survived by his sons, Kevin (Shannon) of Eastern Passage, NS, Randy (Liz) of Bezanson, AB and Rodney (Julie), Timmy (Tracy) and Ted (Megan), all of Rusagonis, NB; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack (Marg), Joanie (late Frank) and Ken (Doreen), all of Nova Scotia. Ed was predeceased by his parents, George and Margaret (Renner) Nicholson; siblings, Edna, "Buster" (George), Dorothy, Margaret, Ernie, Marjorie, Ralph, Donnie, Ruth, Reggy, Walter, Vernon, Arthur and Ann.
Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be dearly loved and missed by his family.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 93, 284 Restigouche Road, Oromocto, on August 8th, 2016 from 2-4 pm. For those who wish, donations in Ed's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
