Regret to announce the recent passing of Bud Collins in Advocate Harbour.
Bud graduated from Depot with 132 Squad and subsequently served with our 1st Battalion in Gagetown and Cyprus (‘B’ Coy).

1939 - 2017
Collins, Kenneth J. 'Bud' – Age 77, of Advocate Harbour passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at home. Born in Advocate Harbour, he was the son of the late Kenneth H. and Marie (MacDougall) Collins, of Brookville. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Maureen (Ells); daughters, Jean Jacklin (David), June Skinner, Valerie Bembridge (Jeff), all of Amherst; sisters, Melba Morse (Peter), Lower Sackville; Janice Brooks (Derrick), Thunder Bay, Ont.; a brother, John (Vina), Brookville; grandchildren, Adam Jacklin (Kirstie), Cody Jacklin (Virginia), Katie Skinner (Cody), Kelli Skinner (Fredrik), Patrick Currie (Michelle), Brittney Cousins (Adam), Duncan Bembridge; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bud enjoyed a 23 year military career, beginning with The Black Watch, followed by 13 years with Corrections Canada. He was passionate about his work, his community, but most of all loved and cherished time spent with his wife, family, and friends. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Advocate Baptist Church, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017, Keith Selwyn-Smith, DLM officiating. Burial in the Advocate Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Advocate Fire Department or the Advocate Cemetery.
