Regret to report the passing of Wally Travis last week in Halifax.
Wally was well known to anyone who ever entered the Camp Gagetown gymnasium during the 1960s.

Travis, Wallace “Wally” Edward – age 85 Meadowvale formerly of Halifax. Passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at home. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Gideon and Annastasia (Mason) Travis. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1952 – 1981, as a physical training instructor. Upon retirement he worked at Nova Scotia Community College Akerley Campus for several years. Wally was an avid sports fan and was well known for coaching the Cole Harbour Scotia Colts and Truro Bearcats. Wally is survived by his wife of 66 years Patricia (MacIsaac); children, Gordon (Marion), Nancy (Brian), Brian (Heather); 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia. A Celebration of Life will be held 10am Tuesday, November 14th with a reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.
