Black Watch friends:
Regret to report the passing of Ken Hillier last Friday in Oromocto.
Ken spent most of his Black Watch years with our 2nd Battalion in either Headquarters or Support companies. He joined the battalion in Aldershot and subsequently accompanied it to Gagetown, Germany and Cyprus (both in 1966 and 1969/70). He re-badged to The RCR in 1970.

Kenneth Hillier
It is with great sadness that the family announces Ken’s passing at Hospice House, Fredericton.
Born in Grand Falls-Windsor, NFLD, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ivy Hillier. He is also predeceased by his sisters, Hazel Fougere, Mabel Weatherbee, Geraldine Brace and brothers, Robert (Wince), Cyrus (Cy) and Maxwell. Ken is now forever reunited with his loving wife, Jean.
Leaving to mourn, his sons, Graham (Debbie) of Ottawa, ON, David (Carolyn) of Edmonton, AB and Robert (Sadie); his daughter, Valerie (Clint), both of Fredericton, NB; his brothers, Edward (Ed) and David; sisters, Sadie (Sis) and Jenny; his grandchildren for who he was so proud of, Ryan (Maude), Paige, Jason and Courtney; as well as many nieces, nephews and his military family and friends.
Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was proud of his time spent in the Black Watch and 2RCR Regiments and honoured to serve his country for 32 years. He will be forever loved and always missed.
Arrangements entrusted to Oromocto Funeral Home. In keeping with Ken’s wishes there will be no visitation. A private family service will happen at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the medical and kitchen staff and volunteers from the Hospice House Fredericton.
For those that wish, donations in Ken’s memory can be made to Hospice House Fredericton (www.hospicefredericton.ca).
