Black Watch friends:

Regret to report the passing of Tom McIntyre yesterday in Fredericton.
Tom served in our 1st Battalion (mostly in Pioneer Platoon) in Aldershot, Germany, Gagetown and Cyprus. He re-badged 2RCR in 1970.
Tom was widely recognized within the unit as a skilled carpenter and one of his more memorable projects was the catamaran that he built in Jamaica in 1971 for his CQMS, Doug Riggs.
Note funeral arrangements next week in Oromocto.

John Thomas "Tom" McIntyre
1935-2018

It is with sadness that the family of John Thomas "Tom" McIntyre, announce his death at Hospice Fredericton on Friday, September 21, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born in Bras d’Or, Cape Breton, NS, on December 3, 1935, he was the husband of Marie McIntyre of Waterville, Sunbury County.
In addition to his wife, Marie, Tom leaves behind his children, Gwen Michaud (Richard), Keith McIntyre, Paul McIntyre, Phyllis Ranisavljevic (Drago), Gerald McIntyre; brothers, Gordon and Doug McIntyre; sisters, Mary Hall, Madonna Romeo and Phyllis Erickson; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Tom was predeceased by his parents, John and Hilda (Jessum) McIntyre; brothers, Terry and Jackie McIntyre.
Tom served in the military for several years in addition to being a plumber and working in maintenance at Oromocto Public Hospital. His family fondly remembers him as "a jack of all trades, master of none", a trait he passed down to his boys. He will sadly missed.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 25, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 11 am. Father Charles Udeh will officiate. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory can be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada or Diabetes Association.
