Regret to report the passing of Mel Morin last week in Saint John, NB.
Mel graduated from RHC Depot with 142 Squad in October 1963 and was posted to our 1st Battalion in Gagetown. The following year, 1RHC was assigned to the Allied Command Europe (ACE) Mobile Force for operational tasks on the northern flank of NATO (Norway) so that became the part of our world that Mel got to know. He had remustered to RC Dental Corps before the unit deployed to Cyprus in 1967.
It is with great sadness that the family of Mel Morin announces his passing which occurred on September 24, 2020, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Penetanguishene, Ontario, on March 8, 1944, he was a son of the late Raymond and Marie (Ladouceur) Morin.

Mel was an active member of the Oromocto Legion Branch #93 and spent a total of 23 years with the Canadian Forces before retiring as a Sargent. He spent his first 3 years serving in The Black Watch and the next 20 years with the Dental Corp.

Mel is survived by his loving wife, Cecile; two children, Suzanne David (Wayne) and Raymond Morin (Tina); sister, Yvonne Ladouceur; grandchildren, Maren David, Jade David, Cadence Morin. In addition to his parents, Mel was predeceased by his brother, Robert Morin

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A graveside service will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at 2:00 PM.
