Regret to report the passing of Glen Kennedy last week in Kingston.

Glen served two tours in Cyprus with 2nd Battalion, The Black Watch RHC – in 1966 with ‘D’ Company and in 1969 with Support Company. In 1970 he re-badged 2RCR.

KENNEDY, Glendon, MCPL (Ret’d)
June 6, 1941- December 23, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Father after a lengthy illness on December 23rd, 2020 at the Trillium Ridge Long Term Care in Kingston, ON at the age of 79.
A proud veteran of 25 years serving with The Black Watch; Princess Patricia’s Light Infantry and 2RCR based in Gagetown New Brunswick. As a member of the Geary Lions Club, Geary home and school association, and Oromocto Legion he was actively involved in the community. Moving to Ontario in 2003 to be closer to his children; he became an active member of the 631 Legion and was too young to retire joining First Student with Stock school bus lines until illness forced him to finally retire in 2016.
While stationed in Soest, Germany he met the love of his life Waltraud (Val) who he was married to for 39 years prior to her passing in 2004. Proud Father of Claudia (John), Connie (Thomas), and Glen Jr (Tina), proud Poppy to Shonda (Brian), Rory, Jessica & Jeff, great Poppy to Ava, Jasmine, Adrian & Dale. He was one of eleven siblings and leaves behind his twin sister Gwen, Valerie (Stirling), Duncan (Jean), Victor (Barb); along with many in-laws, several nieces, and nephews. Due to the current circumstances, there will be no services in Kingston at this time. Family service will be done at a later date in Nova Scotia where he missed dearly and will forever call home. In lieu of flowers donations to the Lung Association of Eastern Ontario Suite 420-2647 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K1V 7T5 or UHKF- Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario Unit 4-55 Rideau Street, Kingston, Ontario K7K 2Z8 would be appreciated.
