Regret to report the passing of Dallas Morris last Wednesday in Parrsboro, NS.
Dallas joined Second Battalion, The Black Watch RHC in Camp Aldershot circa 1955 and accompanied the unit to Camp Gagetown in 1958. When 2RHC deployed to Germany in 1962, Dallas was posted to our First Battalion and remained with 1RHC through Norway and Cyprus as a member of Headquarters Company.
Dallas re-badged to Second Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment in 1970 and remained with 2RCR until he retired from the CAF.

1936 - 2021
Age 85, of West Brook, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at home. Born in Port Greville, he was a son of the late Earl and Emiline (Parker) Morris. Dallas served with the Royal Canadian Regiment (Black Watch) for 35 years, serving in Cyprus, Germany and Norway on many peacekeeping missions. He later was employed with C.E. Harrison & Son for many years. He is survived by daughters, Kathy Gallant, Southampton; Christine Morris, Lindsay, Ont.; Sherrie Morris, Halifax; Debbie LaRue (Bob), Maccan; Starr Smith (Troy), Springhill; son, Myles (Anne Marie), Southampton; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Loretta (Gilbert); sisters, Isabelle McCulley and Jeanie Gilbert; brothers, Wyman "Tud", Ross, Howard, Burnell. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. today, Friday, October 15th in Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. All are welcome! In keeping with COVID-19 restrictions, all people attending the visitation will be required to provide proof of double vaccination and government issued ID in order to attend. Masks must be worn at all times during the visitation. Private family funeral and graveside committal services will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
