Black Watch friends:

Regret to report the passing of L.T. (Lloyd) McGrath two weeks ago in Saint John, NB.
Lloyd served with our Second Battalion RHC in Gagetown, Germany and Cyprus before moving on to service with the US Army.

Lloyd Thomas McGrath
February 2, 1944 ~ September 12, 2022 (age 78)

It is with broken hearts, that the family of Lloyd Thomas McGrath, announce his sudden passing on Monday, September 12, 2022.
Lloyd was born in Chatham, NB on February 2, 1944 to the late Joseph and Viola (Powers) McGrath. The family moved to Saint John when he was a teenager. He joined the Canadian army when he was 17 years old and served in the Black Watch. In 1968, he joined the American army and was in the 101st Airborne Division, and went to Vietnam and did 2 Tours, received the purple heart, and earned 12 more medals.
Upon returning home, he met his wife of 52 years, Joan (Carroll) and settled down to start a family. He retired from G4S Armoured Car after 28 years. Lloyd enjoyed taking his dog, Gracie, to the dog park, gardening and spending time with his family and teasing the ladies at church. Lloyd will be remembered by his immediate family and friends as a kind, giving, and funny man.
Along with his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Ferguson (Bob), Ann Goguen (Roger) and Helen Connors (Shep) and his brothers, Joseph (Edith), Walter, Allen (Phyllis) & Keith.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 52 years, Joan (Carroll), his two children, daughter Shannon Amero (Mike) and son, Cameron. And his two grandsons, Michael Alexander, and Austin, along with several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road in Saint John NB. Visitation is Monday, September 19 from 2-4 and 6-8. Services will be at Stella Maris Church on Bayside drive in Saint John, NB on Tuesday September 20, 12 pm. A burial service will take place in Chatham, NB at St. Michaels Cemetery, at a later date.
Donations can be made to the heart and stroke foundation, the Kidney Foundation of Canada or charity of choice.
