FAWSON, Percy Louis "Timer" 80, Mount Uniacke, passed away April 17, 2009, at home. Born April 30, 1928, in Halifax, he was the son of the late Percival and Irene (McGrath) Fawson. He is survived by his first wife, Theresa (Collins), Halifax; his second wife, Linda Warren, Mount Uniacke; his daughter, Margaret, Halifax; sons, James (Lynda), Calgary; Frank (Wynne), Dayspring; Patrick (Pauline), Bedford; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Menear and brother, Robert. Timer was a member of Mount Uniacke Legion Branch 165 and The Black Watch Association. He served in the Army for 26 years and was awarded the Korea, Volunteer Special Force, Nato, UN Korea, Queens Jubilee and C.D. Medals. He also served in the Militia Army Reserve. He worked at CFB Stadacona as a plumber for 15 years. Timer loved to work in his garage, tease, joke, have suppers out, quick visits with people, going for drives, watching the weather channel, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Timer will be dearly missed and never forgotten by those who have known him. Timer's family would like to thank all the doctors, VON, Bev and the Palliative Care Team, homecare workers, as well as all the neighbours who have been so helpful at this very difficult time. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville with a legion service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, April 20, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow in the family reception area. Burial will take place at 3 p.m. in Hillgrove Cemetery, Digby County. Family flowers only.
