Regret to announce the recent passing of Malcolm Johnstone in Fredericton.
Malcolm served in Germany with 1st Battalion.

Malcolm Douglas Johnstone
1931-2009

The passing of Malcolm Douglas Johnstone of Fredericton NB occurred at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 24thth, 2009. He was 78. Born in Halifax NS, he is the son of the late Joesph Johnstone & Irene Wournell.

Having worked at Day & Ross for a number of years, Malcolm was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4. Malcolm served his country with the First Battalion, the Black Watch including a tour of duty in Germany.

He is survived by four children; Sandra Mallett (Everett) of Halifax, Diana Johnstone of Fredericton, Joseph Johnstone (Teresa) of Waasis NB, Crystal Whelan (Brent) of Fredericton, eight grandchildren & several great grandchildren and his dear friend Leda Brown. He was predeceased by his wife Sedella Margaret Johnstone.

No visitation by request of the family. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on McEvoy Street at 3 PM with Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Interment to follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Memorials to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
