THORNTON, Eloyal Vernon "Lyle" - 66, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Friday, December 18, 2009, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born February 23, 1943, in St. John's, N.L., he was a son of the late Fred and Blanche Thornton. He served with the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada. Lyle is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie; his sisters, Shirley, Diane and Joan; his sons, Edward (Valerie), Gregory, Alan and Carl; daughters, Nadine and Barbara, and several grandchildren. Services will be held today in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 30 Alfred St., Dartmouth, at 2 p.m., Rev. Kees Zwanenburg officiating.
