DODGE, David W.R. Lt. Col. (Ret'd.)
With love, joy and true devotion, we honour the life of David Wesley Raymond Dodge. He was a man of honour, wisdom and strong family values. His life will be celebrated by his much loved wife Doreen, of 63 years and children Barbara (Bill), Brenda (Bob), Ian, Peter (Bette-Anne). He will be lovingly remembered by his 8 grandchildren, Jordan, Brier C., Jenny, Mindy, Katie, Brier D., Claire and Cameron. David was born in Birtle, Manitoba, on January 7, 1919. He grew up playing hockey on the prairies, joined the infantry highlanders and was involved in active duty during WWII. David went on to have three careers. A proud professional officer in the Black Watch Regiment, a civil servant who worked tirelessly to assist Canadians in trouble abroad and finally a beekeeper with prize winning honey. David left this world on January 28, 2010, peacefully in hospital. We love you. Friends may call at the Bells Corners United Church, 3955 Richmond Road, Nepean on Wednesday, February 3rd, from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. For those who wish, please consider a donation in David's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
