Regret to announce recent passing of Keith Mollison in Charlottetown.
Keith joined 2nd Battalion RHC after it returned from Korea and remained with the battalion when it moved from Aldershot to Gagetown in 1958.
Have no details of his WWII service. Would appreciate if anyone could provide info on Keith’s WWII and subsequent Regular Force service.

Mollison
At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, of Keith L. Mollison, Lt.-Col. (Ret'd), of Charlottetown, aged 88 years. Veteran of the Second World War and retired member of the Canadian Forces, (Black Watch RHC of Canada), Loving husband of 50 years of Sally-Ann Mollison (nee Scovil) and father of Lowell Mollison (Marilyn Muir), Janet Mollison, Ann Mollison (Paul Whitlock), Ian Mollison (Yvonne) and Nancy Mollison. Beloved "Yaya" to grandchildren, Timothy, Jenna, Chase, Cole, Taylor and Brianna. Brother of Grant Mollison (Mildred), Ellen Law, Mary Stephenson, (James). Also survived by his first wife, Frances (nee Jenkins). Predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Wylie, and brothers, Milton and Alex Mollison. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home. No visitation or funeral service by personal request. Memorial donations may be made to the P.E.I. Cancer Treatment Centre of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital or Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Thanks to your responses to my earlier e-mail we have been able to piece together a more meaningful record of Keith Mollison’s military service.

Keith joined the North Nova Scotia Highlanders (3rd Canadian Infantry Division) in January 1945 and fought with them until he was wounded during the fight for Bienen in the Rhineland on 24 March 1945. He returned to his unit in Germany on 16 May.

After the war Keith attended Acadia University and, when the call went out to raise a brigade for service with NATO, he answered the call and again enlisted with the North Novies. He deployed to Hannover as one of the originals in 1st Canadian Highland Battalion (see officers photo on page 25 of the Reg Force History – Keith is in rear row, third from right) where he was second-in-command of the battalion’s Mortar Platoon.

After his return to Canada Keith was assigned to 2RHC in Aldershot and Gagetown where he served until approx 1959 (the above photo from the 2RHC Officers Mess photo of 1958).

Keith, then a captain, was posted to staff duties in 1959 however he returned to Gagetown in 1965 to command ‘C’ Company, and later Support Company, in 1st Battalion RHC. Following the Allied Command Europe Mobile Force (AMF) Exercise Winter Express in Norway in 1966 he was posted to the newly-formed Canadian Army Training Team in Tanzania.
