Regret to announce the passing yesterday of Gordon Kingston in Miramichi, NB.
Gordon served with 2nd Battalion RHC in Korea, Gagetown, Germany and Cyprus.

KINGSTON, GORDON D. - 1927-2011 - Miramichi - Gordon Douglas Kingston, husband of the late Patricia F. Kingston, of the Veterans' Wing of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, passed away at his residence, on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at the age of 84. Born on Middle Island, on March 19, 1927, he was the son of the late Fraser and Mona (MacFarlane) Kingston. He was a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces (Army) as well as a Korean Peacekeeper and a retired civilian employee of the Dept. of National Defence, at the former CFB Chatham. He was an adherent of St. Andrews United Church; a member of Branch # 3, Royal Canadian Legion, Miramichi. He is survived by one daughter, Peggy Walsh (Roy), of Miramichi; one daughter in law, Doris Kingston, of Miramichi; five grandchildren, Shawn, Nathan (Carrie), Scott (Jennifer), Brandon (Christel), Mary (Jamie); three great grandchildren, Seth, Jayden, Rylee Mae; five sisters, Dorothy Ruston, of Florida, Grace Mazerolle, of Moncton, Elizabeth Desaulniers (Denis), Marilyn McGarrigle (Jim), Jeanne Breau, of Miramichi; one brother, Kenneth Kingston, of Mount Forest, Ont.; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Patricia F. Sippley, in 2008; one son, James Kingston; one sister, Mona MacInnis.

Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, on Thursday, at 11 am, conducted by Wendell Gregan. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi. Please note, members of Branch # 3, Royal Canadian Legion, are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, at 7:30 pm, for a Veterans' Service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Dougie Breau Memorial Fund, the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, telephone 773-3492, or messages of condolence may be sent online to www.adamsfh.ca
