With the 150th anniversary fast approaching, I thought I would start my own anniversary project. As you all know, we have stories / tales that we like to tell at mess dinners, or when we would sit around the mess; the humerous stories that we seem to enjoy retelling at every mess function.
I thought I would like to compile these tales into a book - Tales from the Mess. As we all get older these stories will be lost. We have our regimental history but these are the anecdotes that do not generally make the history books.
I will be self publishing this book and once all costs are established and prices fixed, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the regimental foundation for future generations.
I have created a simple form for you to use to submit any story that you wish to tell. It can be found at
www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/boj179H734ilr8d
You will probably have to cut and paste this information into your browser.
If you are interested and know of people who are not using the internet, please pass this information on to them and perhaps you can record their story for them.
I want this book to be a compilation of stories from all battalions, peace time and war time. If you have some anecdotes from relatives that served, send them along too. If you have any questions on this project, please put a posting here and I will respond.
Many thanks in advance for your contributions. I look forward to reading them.
