Jim was Paymaster with 2RHC in the late 60’s, including Cyprus in 1969/70. Before he was commissioned into the Pay Corps, Jim was a soldier in The Royal Canadian Regiment. Following his retirement from the CF, Jim entered the clergy.

James Heffernan HEFFERNAN, James J., Deacon Captain (retired) Peacefully, at home on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Caroline Heffernan (nee Roche). Loving father of Mike (Wendy), Maurice (Karen), Pat (Laurie) and Sean (Cindy). Cherished grandfather of Beth, Brenda, Rachael, Siobhan, Keegan, Kate, Megan, Sabrina, Ryan, Ciara and Aisling. Predeceased by his parents, brothers and sisters. Friends may pay respects at Kelly Funeral Home, 2313 Carling Avenue (west of Carlingwood) Friday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday to St. John the Apostle Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment at a later date.
