Bud served with 2nd Battalion in Gagetown, Germany and Cyprus, and briefly with 2RCR in Gagetown.

STELLARTON - Clarence Edward "Buddie" Smith, age 76 of Clairemont Ave., Stellarton, widower of Stella MacGillivary, passed away on Wednesday, December 1st, 2010 in the QEII Infirmary Site, Halifax.
Born in Trenton, he was a son of the late Eugene and Lily (Munsie) Smith.
Buddie was a resident of the New Glasgow area for the past 30 years. He was retired from the military where he served as a member of the Black Watch and the RCR. Buddie was past president of the Army, Navy and Air Force Club. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed a good game of cards and was a member of the Club 55 New Glasgow.
Surviving are a son, Rod (Kathy) Smith of Toronto; daughters, Rodna (Ingram) Hilliard of Dartmouth; Kelly (Brad) MacLeod of Stellarton; grandchildren: Krista, Eric, Andrew, Geoff and Bradford; brothers, John (Agnes) Smith of Westville Road; George (Beth) Smith of B.C.; sister, Gloria Adair of Alberta. Also dearly remembered are Marlene, Ray and Carolyn.
He was predeceased by sisters, Katherine (Kay) Lays and Dorothy (Dot) Rae; brother, William (Bill) Smith.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Buddie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
