What are the steps involved in joining the Black Watch, and how long will it take?

The first step is to attend an information session at the Black Watch, which takes place every Tuesday evening at 7:30pm. You’ll be given a presentation on what to expect in the army reserves. You’ll also be given an application form, which you need to fill out and hand in to the recruiting officer. Shortly afterwards, the recruiting center will call you and give you an appointment to come in and do an aptitude test and a medical exam. The next stage is a one-on-one interview. The final step is to be sworn in at your regiment. The whole process can take about three months – though sometimes it can be much faster, or take a lot longer.
