TOPIC: Old BW sporran found on line

Old BW sporran found on line 9 Years, 6 Months ago
Hello, all..
My name is Ron Lewis, and I live in Twin Falls, Idaho.
I recently purchased an old Black Watch Officer's/SNCO hair sporran on an online auction. It was pretty rough, but a little TLC helped me restore it. It now looks pretty nice, and has writing on the back reading:
SF101367
DAWE
G. W.
I assume this is the name and serial number of the original owner. I'd like to trace the history of this old sporran. My research with the Black Watch of Scotland has brought me to Canada. I'm told the serial number indicates Canadian Black Watch.
If the name rings a bell with anyone, I'd love to hear from you, so I can put a history to this grand old regimental sporran..
Thank You
D/M Ron Lewis

The SF number indicates he joined in Halifax which covers the provinces of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The number tells me he joined approximately in 1961, give or take a year. I do not recognize that Dawe name but then he may have been in the 2nd Batallion while I was in the 1st. Sorry I couldn't help you any more than that. Good luck.
