Oliver "Willie" Wilson 1931-2012
Oliver "Willie" Wilson - It is with deep sadness that the family of Oliver "Willie" Wilson, 80, of Kentville, announces his passing on Monday, January 9, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Windsor, he was the son of the late George and Kathleen (Millan) Wilson. Oliver was a devoted father and grandfather. He served for 21 years in the Canadian Armed Forces with the Black Watch, RHR. He later worked for 17 years as a custodian at Acadia University. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville. He is survived by his sons, Rick, North Alton; Randy (Robin Scott), Kentville; two granddaughters, Starlena, North Alton and Sarah, Eastern Passage; a sister, Anna Errington, Kamloops, British Columbia. He was predeceased by two sisters, Joan and Marguerite; a brother, Tom. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A combined Royal Canadian Legion service and funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Thelma McLeod officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Kings County S.P.C.A. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
