It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Harold Henry Hayden on Thursday, March 01, 2012 at the Oromocto Public Hospital.
Harold, also known as "Papa" by his loved ones, was born on July.28, 1922, in Pictou, Nova Scotia. He was the son of Sarah and William Hayden, and the brother of Muriel, Hildred, and Donnie.
Harold is loved and survived by his daughter Darlene, son in law Charles Richer, son Duane Hayden, granddaughter Sheena Caissie, grandson Jason Hayden and his wife Aleta Hayden, great grandchildren Chase Hayden and Jordan Grant, grandson Terry, grandson Colin and his dearest friend, Joan Ivey, all from Oromocto and Fredericton, NB.
This paper cannot hold all of the admirable qualities Harold had. He dedicated 20 successful years in the Canadian Forces as a member of the Black Watch Pipes and Drums, and will be remembered by so many for his knowledge, passion and talents as a musician. Most importantly, Harold is known for the gentle, kind and giving man that he was, as well as the most loving father, grandfather and friend to so many.
The funeral will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Saturday, March.10, 2012 at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support public schools in the enhancement of their music programs as per Harold’s wishes.
