Regret that Gil Fletcher passed away recently in Woodstock, Ontario.

Gil graduated from Depot in late 1962 with 133 Squad then served with 2nd Battalion in Gagetown and Germany.

FLETCHER, Gilbert - It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Gilbert William Fletcher at Stratford General Hospital, on Thursday, March 1, 2012. Born July 17th, 1941 in Woodstock, Ontario, Gilbert served with the Black Watch Regiment from 1962-1965. He worked many years as a locksmith in Stratford and Woodstock. Known as "Bill" or "Gill", he was an active member of the Stratford Pipe Band as well as the Huntingford Pipe Band. Gilbert was also a member of the Woodstock Knights of Columbus, as well as the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 55. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Theresa, of 47 years. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Irene (Bob) Crawford, Ed (Rosemary) Fletcher, Richard (Carolyn) Fletcher, Harry (Stella) Fletcher and Tom Fletcher. Gilbert is also survived by his children, Denise, Andrew, Stacey (Maurice) and Melissa (Dan) and is proud "Poppa" to 15 grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sister, Margaret Pimental and his brother, Kenneth Fletcher. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock on Sunday, from 2-4 pm. Celebration of Life service in the chapel on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment later at the Anglican Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Smith-LeRoy, (519) 537-3611.
