Ralph H. Hanson passed away on June 14, 2012 in Comox BC. Ralph enrolled in December 1953, serving first in 4 Cdn Gds before transferring to 1 RHC in 1957. His service in 4 Cdn Gds included a tour in Korea in 1953-54. He joined B Coy 1 RHC in Camp Aldershot, served in Germany (Fort St Louis) in 1959-62 and returned with the unit to Camp Gagetown. Ralph remained in B Coy until 1966 and squeezed in a tour in Cyprus with 2 Cdn Gds in 1964. In 1966 he started working in the Red Hackle Club, remaining in that position until taking his release in 1970. Ralph returned to his pre-army occupation as a hard rock miner in NB, this time in Tumbler Ridge BC. He retired in 1989, moved to Canoe BC, and finally to Comox BC in 2007 to be with his son Perley and family.
