Regret to report the passing of ‘Les’ Lowther on 24 December 2012.
As I recall, Les was a member of 2nd Battalion RHC in Gagetown , West Germany and Cyprus, and of 2nd Battalion RCR in Jamaica.

1929-2012
It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of John Leslie "Les" Lowther, age 83, of Springhill, NS. Les passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Oromocto Public Hospital, Oromocto, NB.
Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late William Roy and Stella (Rushton) Lowther.
He served for 27 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, serving in Germany, Cyprus, Jamaica and Canada. He loved music, playing darts, bowling, and dancing. Ahead of everything else came his family to whom he was dearly devoted.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Ardith Rector; sons, John Bill (Janice) Lowther, Waasis, NB, Charles Leslie (Tracie) Lowther, New Minas, NS; daughters, Cheryl Louise (Glynn) Lowther, Halifax, Diana Marie (Clarence) Maine, Springhill; brother, Charles Edward Lowther, St. John's NL; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Roy. Arrangements have been entrusted to the A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Hillside Cemetery.
