Donald Ackerley, a former member of The Regiment, recently passed away in Connecticut.
I have no details of his service in The Regiment however he is a long-time member of the Atlantic Branch RHC Association.

Donald Akerley
Donald S. Akerley, 75, of Ellington, beloved husband of Irene (Palozie) Akerley, passed away, Tuesday, January 8, 2013. He was born October 7, 1937 in New Brunswick, Canada, the son of the late Clarence and Daisy (Lunn) Akerley. He served in the Black Watch in Canada. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons and their spouses, Cliff and Linda Akerley and David and Amy Akerley all of Tolland; his sisters, Evelyn Warren of New Brunswick and Lillian Downey of Nova Scotia; and his grandchildren, Brett, Devin, Katie and Courtney Akerley. He was predeceased by four sisters, Emma Kelterborn, Marian Price, Isabel Saulnier and Jean Gautreau. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. Luke’s Church, 141 Maple St. Ellington, CT 06029. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Broad Brook. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St. East Hartford, CT 06108. For online condolences please visit:
