ST. PETER, DAVID - It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of David Lawrence St. Peter "Buddy", 79, of Riverview, NB and formerly of Maccan on Friday, February 22, 2013 at his home. Born in Maccan, David was a son of the late Harvey and Elizabeth (MacAloney) St. Peter. In his younger years, Buddy served with the Canadian Armed Forces, Black Watch Regiment, having served a tour of duty in Germany. Following his service in the military, he moved to Toronto and Ottawa where he worked as a Commissionaire for several government agencies. On his return home, Buddy was employed with Fraser’s Dry Cleaners. Most recently he was a Commissionaire in the Moncton area until his passing. Buddy was heavily involved with the Army Cadets for many years, in River Hebert and Moncton. He spent many summers at Camp Argonaut in Gagetown, NB. Buddy will be lovingly remembered by his companion, Agnes Chapman, Riverview, NB; sisters, Lillian (Joe) Bray, Maccan and Bernadette (Eric) MacDonald, Nappan; brothers, Archie (Valerie), Springhill, Billy, Maccan; brother in law, Jim Dwyer, Maccan; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides his parents, Buddy was predeceased by brother, John; sister, Margaret Dwyer; nephew, Brian St. Peter and niece, Colleen Dwyer.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:30 p.m. all in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-9906). Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. Reception will follow in the parish hall. Interment will take place in the spring in the St. Charles- Nativity Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations in Buddy’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
