Regret that Andy Fanning passed away yesterday at home in New Glasgow, NS.
Andy was a long time member of 2nd Battalion.
In recent years, although visually impaired, he was a regular at Nova Scotia Chapter’s morning coffees and he never missed the Atlantic Branch’s annual gatherings every September.

NEW GLASGOW - Andrew James “Andy” Fanning, 81, New Glasgow formerly of Priestville passed away Tuesday March 12, 2013 at home surrounded by loved ones.
Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Goodspeed Adam and Sarah Margaret (Jordan) Fanning. He was a sales person for Rawleigh’s Watkins Fuller Brush for many years. Andy was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, New Glasgow and Army, Navy and Air force Veterans in Canada. Served after WWII with the 27 Brigade Carlton York’s and Black Watch.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Nancy Ellen (Jocelyn);daughters, Jo-Anne Cornelius, Jasper, AB; Joyce “JC” (Mario) Larochelle, Calagary, AB; Bernadette (David) Weeks, New Glasgow; Julie Findlay, MacLellans Mtn.; Theresa Fanning, New Glasgow; Kristy(Guillio) Mills, New Glasgow; Terry Mosher, Halifax; sons, Andrew “Jim” Fanning, Halifax; David (Channin) Fanning, MacLellans Brook; Michael Fanning, New Glasgow; John Fanning, Sudbury, ON; Everett (Kathy) Baker, Little Harbour Rd; Roy Baker, AB; 41 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; nephews, Donnie and Sammy Bowden; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Donald; son-in-law, George Cornelius and sister Mary Etta Bowden.
There will be no visitation or service at Andy’s request.
Donations may be made in Andy’s memory to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, New Glasgow, CNIB or the War Memorial for the Black Watch .
