Bill Jackson was a member of 2nd Battalion and served with the unit in Gagetown and in Cyprus 1966.

William "Bill" John Jackson
(August 24, 1936 - April 6, 2013)
Jackson, William John - 76, Amherst and formerly of Springhill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Born in Springhill on August 24, 1936, he was a son of the late John and Minnie (Tabor) Jackson. Bill worked in the coal mines in Springhill and later enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces, serving with the Black Watch Regiment for a number of years. He then worked for Corrections Canada until his retirement. He was an avid reader, loved hunting, fishing and all sports. Bill was a member of the Laurie Lodge No.70, Springhill and was a member of the Cumberland Shrine Club. Bill is survived by son, Daniel; daughters, Trea and Jill (Shawn Cosgrove); sister, Gail; brothers, Grant (Diane), Gary (Bonnie) and David; grandchildren, Caitlin, Derek, Mark and Shawna. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, arrangements are entrusted with MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, Oxford (447-2930). Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will take place at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. Private condolences may be sent to the family by visiting
