Regret to distribute news of the recent passing of Bill Currie in Whitecourt, Alberta.
Bill served with 1st Battalion in Aldershot and was posted to 2nd Battalion in Gagetown when 1st went to Germany in 1959. Bill retired from the CAF when 2nd Battalion went to Germany in 1962.

CURRIE, WILLIAM "BILL" AMBROSE - On Wednesday, July 17, 2013, William “Bill” Ambrose Currie of Whitecourt, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years. Bill will be deeply mourned, missed and never forgotten by his wife and soul mate for over 63 years, Arvella; his children, Reid (Ivis), Norma (Wayne) Alexander, Brock (Cristina), Angela (Robert) Brown, all of Whitecourt, Matthew (Carole) of Mayerthorpe, Doris (Merv) Dickson of Whitecourt, Ellen (Dale) Mahoney of Edmonton and Andrew (Mary) of Whitecourt; seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Phyllis Wall of Bridgewater, NS. Predeceased by grandson, Nicholas Alexander (2000); parents, Reid and Elizabeth and brothers, Matthew and Vincent.
A Gathering of Family and Friends to Celebrate Bill’s Life will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Parish Hall, 5540 Mink Creek Road, Whitecourt with Pastor Ian Smith officiating.
