Regret to report the recent passing of Wavell Price in New Brunswick.

Surrounded by his family, Wavell Cyril Price of Priceville, NB, went home to be with his Lord. Born in Priceville, NB, 71 years ago, he was the son of the late Magnus and Mabel (Munn) Price. Wavell joined the military at the young age of 17 and served with the 1st and 2nd Battalion Black Watch as well as the 2nd Battalion The Royal Canadian Regiment for 27 1/2 years, retiring in 1988. After retiring he became employed at Sutter Salmon Lodge as the Head Guide until 1995 then continued as the Head Guide under the new management of Sutter Salmon Club. Wavell's love for fishing and his ability to tie salmon flies have been known world wide. He is being inducted in to the Atlantic Salmon Association Hall of Fame as an Angler and Guide. He made many great friends that shared his passion for coyote hunting. Wavell was a member of the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly and enjoying singing his favourite hymns in church and at many benefits in the area.
Wavell is survived by his wife Gloria Ruth (Munn) of 49 plus years; his sons, Michael (Rachel) of Regina, SK, Peter (Ivy) of Fredericton, NB, Tracy (Julia) of Charters Settlement; grandchildren, Papa's "Sweety Pies" Averi and Kenzie, who were the love of his life; sisters, Lila Percy (Don) of London, ON, Sharon Clowater (Norman) of Ludlow, NB, Esther Gallivan of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Spencer Price of Porter Cove, NB, James Price (Ruth) of Porter Cove, NB, Lorne Price of Miramichi City, NB; several nieces and nephews; his brothers in Arms and his fishing and hunting family. In addition to his parents, Wavell was predeceased by his sisters, Norma O'Donnell (Sis) and Merva Grasse; sister-in-law, Louise Price and brother-in-law, Philip Grasse.
Visitation will be held at the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly, 287 McNamee Road, Ludlow, NB from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Monday, August 11, 2014 and a Celebration of Wavell’s life will be held from the church at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 with Rev. Allison Cromwell officiating. For those who wish, charitable remembrances may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Personal condolences may be offered through
