Regret to report the passing of Dennis Barrett last weekend in Cape Breton.
Dennis served with our 1st Battalion in Aldershot, Germany and Gagetown.

It is with great sadness that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Dennis Barrett on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with his children at his side.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Victor and Mary (MacIsaac) Barrett.
In his younger years he served as a peacekeeper with the Black Watch in Germany. Later on he own his own business Barrett’s Sanitation Services which he operated for many years.
Dennis is survived by the mother of his children, Gloria (Vigneau) Barrett; his children, Debbie (Keith) Nicholson, Sydney, Bruce (Harriett) Barrett, Colorado, Darren (Karen) Barrett, Ontario; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his companion, Viola Colson and her children and grandchildren; his two sisters, Mary Warner, Diane (John) MacDonald; two brothers, Donnie Barrett and Ross (Valerie) Barrett as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Wayne and Bobby.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with Fr. Dennis Lamey officiating.
