Regret to report the passing of William Aucoin last week in Glace Bay.
William graduated from RHC Depot with 130 Squad in September 1962 and then, I suspect, joined our 1st Battalion in Gagetown.

It is with great heartfelt sadness that we, the family of William Aucoin, announce his passing on February 17, 2018 at the Glace Bay Hospital with loving family at his side. Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late John and Abigail (Milley)
It is with great heartfelt sadness that we, the family of William Aucoin, announce his passing on February 17, 2018 at the Glace Bay Hospital with loving family at his side. Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late John and Abigail (Milley) Aucoin. In William’s younger years he served his country with the Black Watch out of Gagetown NB. Following his military service he received his mechanic papers were he worked for Toyota, Chrysler, and Nova Scotia Power until his retirement. William also spent 25 years serving as a volunteer Fire Fighter with the Donkin Volunteer Fire Department. William had a great passion for antique cars, he enjoyed working on them with his friends and following the car shows. He had a love for the outdoors he enjoyed fishing and camping, and also had a great love for listening to Bluegrass Music. William is survived by loving wife, Donna (Gabriel); sons, Blake (Nancy), Brent (Brenda) and Derrick (MaryAnn); grandchildren, Jeremy, Kelsea, Jarrod, Christopher and Derek, and great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by son, John Ashton Aucoin, and brother, Johnny.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay with Funeral Service to follow at 2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
