Black Watch friends:
Regret to report the passing of Ken Greenham last Sunday in Halifax.
Ken served with The RCR from 1958 until 1961 when he took his release from the Army. He re-joined shortly thereafter and repeated his basic training in the RHC Depot with 128 Squad. On graduation, the entire squad was posted to 1RHC in Germany and remained there with 2RHC until 2nd Battalion returned to Gagetown in 1965. Have been unable to determine if he went to Cyprus with 2RHC in 1966 but he was there with 2RHC/A Company in 1969/70.
Ken re-badged RCR in 1970 and held various appointments in 2RCR and Gagetown. In 1990, as an MWO, he was posted to RSS in NL. At the end of this tour he returned to Halifax and retired from the Regular Force to become RSM of the Princess Louise Fusiliers.
Ken became a member of the Corps of Commissionaires and was appointed OIC Commissionaires at Province House where the Nova Scotia legislative assembly, known officially as the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, has met every year since 1819 making it Canada's oldest house of government. In 2006 he was appointed Sergeant-at-Arms for the House of Assembly, a post which he held until the end of 2015.
Ken did us all proud!
With thanks to Cy Clayton, Eric Journeay and Harry Gordon for the foregoing.
