Regret to report the passing of Paul Schofield one week ago in Moncton, NB.
Paul served with our 2nd Battalion (believe ‘A’ Company) in Gagetown, West Germany and Cyprus.

Paul Schofield
Beersvile, NB – Paul Schofield 76, of Beersville passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Kentville, NS he was the son of the late James and Hilda (Zwicker) Schofield.
Paul served overseas in the 2nd Battalion Black Watch in Germany and Cypress, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 075 in Harcourt and Knights of Physisis. He was employed at Social Development Canada for 25 years, also a motor cycle instructor for Canada Safety Council, St. John Ambulance Search and Rescue Division, Highway Inspector in Cape Breton and Volunteer Fire Fighter.
He loved hunting and fishing with his best friend Percy. Paul and Cheryl enjoyed camping with their friends Margie Percy. He enjoyed his time with family and friends. He will be missed by his dogs Little Buck, Little Bear and Little Teddy. He loved a good game of cards and dominoes, and playing washers with many friends and family. He loved his life and enjoyed every minute of it.
Paul will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Cheryl (Lucci) Schofield of Beersville; two daughters, Reni (Mike Bear), Cindy (Henry Cormier); one son, Mark Schofield (Laura); one step-daughter, Hannah Downey; one step-son, Roy Hill; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one daughter, Pamela Schofield; one grandson, Dale Schofield; one great grandson, Christian Humble; siblings, Peggy Reid (James) of New Minas, NS, Paulette Legault of Comox, BC and Elton Schofield (Linda) of Kentville, NS.
Visitation will be held at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, 9242 Route 490, Bass River, NB, E4T 1G9 beginning at 1:00 pm until time of the service. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 3:00 pm, St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, Bass River. A reception will be held after the funeral service at the Harcourt Legion, 6471 Route 116, Harcourt, NB, E4T 2V7. Interment will be held at a later date.
Donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the Harcourt Legion and would be appreciated by the family. Thank you to the many doctors and nurses at the Moncton City Hospital and especially the oncology clinic where he received such wonderful care.
