Regret to report the passing of Ron Clare two weeks ago in Abbotsford, BC.
Ron served in Cyprus with our Second Battalion (A Coy) on their final tour in 1969/70 and remustered to Cook on return.
Have not been able to locate an obituary however Ted Keddie has provided the following:
Ronald Matthew George Clare
Born Dec 28, 1949 in Halifax N.S.
Died Sept 16, 2020 in Abbottsford Hospital, BC
Ron served in A Coy 2nd Bn Black Watch in Cyprus (1969/70) and shortly after disbandment he remustered to the cook trade where he served more than 30 years before retiring as a MWO. He once said of that "Not bad for a little ole boy from Halifax". Ron worked the rest of his life as a cook in a government facility. Ron leaves behind his wife of 52 years and son Matt, Dwayne and Pamela and many grand children
