Regret to report the death of Bert Butler about two weeks ago in Tracy NB.
Bert served with 2nd Battalion, The Black Watch RHC from about 1961 including a tour on Cyprus in 1969/70. Believe he re-badged to 2RCR in 1970 but have no record of his service with The RCR

ARTHUR BUTLER
1942 - 2020
It is with great sadness, that the family of Arthur "Bert" Butler announce his passing at home in Tracy, NB on November 14, 2020. Bert was born in Chimney Cove, NFLD on January 4, 1942 to the late Greta (Matthews) Park and Hughie Brake.
Bert is survived by his wife Roena (Nason) Butler, two daughters; Deena Holt (David) and Paula Butler-Reid (Ed), four grandchildren; Jaci Wooden, Kyle, Kerston and Shay Hetherington, step-mother Clarine Brake, and all his half-brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces.
Bert grew up in Trout River, NFLD and at the age of 17 he joined the military. He was a member of the Black Watch of Canada and then the Royal Canadian Regiment. Upon retiring, he joined the Corps. Of Commissionaires. He also was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Gladstone Branch#55, and Black Watch Association.
Along with Bert's parents, he is also predeceased by his Foster parents Gladys (McLean) and Norman Butler, and his step-father Purvis McLean.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Dr. John Richardson and nurse Nicole. They appreciate the care given by the Extra Mural Nurses, Pharmacist Blair Wright and the staff of the Tri-County Pharmasave and Sunbury Funeral Home.
