Black Watch and RCR friends:
Regret to report the passing of Willis Dew in Airdrie, Alberta on 17 June 2021.
Willis went to Korea with Second Battalion, The Black Watch RHC in 1953 as a Private in Battalion Headquarters.
On return to Canada / Camp Aldershot, he became a Corporal section commander with 2RHC/B Coy and by 1963 was Transport Sergeant with 2RHC/C Coy in Germany.
He accompanied 2RHC to Cyprus in 1966 and was appointed ‘Leave NCO’ in Beirut, Lebanon which was a favourite leave destination for members of the battalion while they were serving with the United Nations on Cyprus.
1969/70 found Willis back on Cyprus as W/O in 2RHC/Sp Coy.
In 1970 he, like many of his 2RHC comrades, re-badged to 2RCR and remained in Gagetown with his new unit until he retired from the CAF.
During most of his years with 2RHC, he served alongside his brothers Gerry and Barry/Junior to whom we offer our sincere condolences.
R. I. P.

I remember Bill Dew well, when I was with C Company, Second Battalion. We had a few adventures together while in Germany. The last time I spoke to Bill was in St.Albert, Alberta. We had a small Black Watch reunion probably around 1993/94.
RIP Bill and condolences to his family. Sorry for your loss Gerry and Junior.
