Regret to report the passing of Brian Dunn last month in Middleton, NS.
On graduation from The RHC Depot in 1963 Brian was posted to our First Battalion RHC in CFB Gagetown but the following year he was posted to our Second Battalion (‘A’ Company) in Germany as a reinforcement. He returned to Gagetown with 2RHC in 1965 then accompanied Second Battalion to Cyprus in 1966.
Brian re-badged to 2RCR in 1970 and completed two more Cyprus tours with 2RCR (1973 and 1977/78) and later a tour in Germany with 3RCR.
On retirement from the Regular army he joined the Militia’s West Nova Scotia Regiment.

Dunn, Brian Albert – Age 76 of Greenwood, Kings Co., it is with saddened hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Brian on Monday, August 22, 2022, in Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Middleton after a four-year battle with cancer. Born in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Albert and Jean (Staddon) Dunn. Brian joined the military as part of the Black Watch in 1963. He served in the Airborne regiment from 1968-1970. He went on to join the 2RCR and during his time of duty he served two tours in Germany and three in Cyprus. Brain retired from the Army in 1993. He then worked for Britex, Larsens and finally for CFB Greenwood as a Commissionaire. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and his granddaughter. He will be remembered as a loving husband, faLuskther, and grandfather with a wonderful sense of humour which lasted until the very end. Brian is survived by his loving wife of over 55 yrs., Donna (Anderson); sons, Michael (Lori), South Farmington, Bruce, Wilmot; sister, Jean-Marie “Bunny” Donaldson, Saint John, NB; brother, David, Saint John, NB; sisters-in-law, Gloria (David) Courser, Wuhrs Beach, NB, Peggy Anderson, Chipman, NB; brother-in-law, Don (Judy) Dow, Sussex, NB; special granddaughter, Alexis; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Brian was predeceased by sisters, Merrilee Dow, Janice Fournier; brothers, Douglas & Timothy; brothers-in-law, William Donaldson & Clayton Anderson. A memorial service, beginning with a Masonic Tribute conducted by Ionic Lodge No. 73, will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free: 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Dr. Danny Smith officiating. Interment will follow in North Kingston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
