Vigneault, William "Bill" Patrick

It is with much sadness and shock we announce the sudden passing of our loved one, William "Bill" Patrick Vigneault, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Halifax.

Bill was born in Alder Point on April 17, 1943. At age 17 he became a proud member of the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada, serving in Gagetown, Germany, Cyprus, London, and finishing his 35 year career as a civilian at CFB Shearwater in 1996.

He owned and operated Atlantic Speedy Vac Ltd. from 1980 until 2000, throughout the Maritimes.

His passion in life was making people laugh and no one laughed more at his jokes than he did. He loved to dance, as well as doing karaoke and being the life of the party.

A husband of 59 years to Dollrosa (Della); father of 2 sons, Billy (Maryanne), of New Ross, Ronnie (April), of East Chezzetcook; 2 grandsons, Izaac and Halen; sisters Claire (Rick) Chenier, of Lower Sackville, Diane Dempsey, of Yellowknife; sister-in-law Beverly (Ron).

Predeceased by mother, Mary; grandmother Donelda; brother Kevin; father and mother-in-law Bert and Rita Hartling.

The family would like to thank 4 West at Veteran's Memorial, nurses and staff, especially Robert who made sure Bill got what he wanted to eat; Laura and Kristin for his outings and fun times.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation as per his wishes. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made to the SPCA, the Alzheimer Society or a charity of choice.
