Former Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of the Black Watch
(Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada

On Wednesday, July 26, 2023 Chuck passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital surrounded by his girlies. Eldest son of the late John Moyse and Lillian May McCabe. Survived by best friend and wife of 62 years, Lorraine (Smith), daughters Cindy (Rob Judd), Tracey (Rob, Tamara, and Ryan White), and Leslee (Blair Cribb), and grandchildren Allyson and Erin Judd, and Madeline and Simon Cribb. He was predeceased by his sister JoAnn (Cox) and brother Malcolm McCabe.

Chuck joined the Reserve Army in 1953 when he graduated from high school in 1956. He served with the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada and the Royal Canadian Regiment in Canada, Germany, and Cyprus, and retired from the Canadian Forces in 1997.

He was a member of the Kanata United Church, Branch 638 of The Royal Canadian Legion, and the boards of directors for the Royal Highlanders of Canada and the Armed Forces Pensioners’/Annuitants Association of Canada.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Kanata United Church on Saturday, September 30 at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada, or to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Absolutely one of a kind. A true gentleman who was very well respected and liked. He shall be missed by all ranks of the Watch and dearly missed at the reunion. RIP Chuck and our condolences to his family and friends and comrades
