— 67, Little Dover, Guysborough Co., passed away, Thursday, February 18, 2010, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Mira Gut, Cape Breton Island, May 27, 1942, Edward was a son of Ruth (Casey) Doyle, Little Dover and the late Francis Doyle. He was a loving father, and beloved and devoted husband. Edward was a retired fisherman and taxidermist. He also served six and one-half years in the Canadian Armed Forces, stationed in Gagetown, N.B. He served with the Black Watch in Canada, continental Europe and Cyprus. Edward is survived by his loving wife, Verna (Bouchie), Little Dover; daughter, Eden (fiancé Jamie Bouchie), Antigonish; sons, Patrick (Wanda) and Mark (Lori-Ann), both of Little Dover; William (Shauna), Antigonish, and Jamie (Amanda), Canso; sisters, Lorraine (Joseph) Gustowski, Massachusetts; Theresa (Phillip) Turnbull, Halifax, and Karen (Ralph) Landry, Lower Sackville; brother, Gerry (Dawn) Doyle, Lower Sackville; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his sister, Edna. There will be no visitation by family request. Funeral mass will be held 1 p.m. today, (Saturday), in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover, with Father Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
