Larry served with 1st Battalion in Aldershot, Germany and Gagetown before he took his release.

ELLIOTT, Lawrence Wendall (Jr.) “Larry” – 74, passed away at home on August 8, 2011. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Hazel (Wilson) Elliott. At 17, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces Black Watch (RHR) of Canada. He proudly served for 10 years in Canada and in Germany. After the service Larry returned home to Tiverton where for the next 30 years he was a fisherman until ill health forced him to retire. He was an avid golfer and member of Clare Golf and Country Club. He was also a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 20, Digby. Larry was also a member of the Black Watch Association Atlantic Branch. He was a caretaker of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. He was a member of Tiverton Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Kathy and children, son, Laurie (Tatiana), Halifax; daughters, Kim Pitts (Richard), Dartmouth; Bev Roebuck (Gary), Dartmouth; daughter, Natalie (Kale), New Minas and son, Faron (Kate), Berwick. Stepchildren, Margie Ossinger, Kentville; Karen Brown, Meteghan and Brenda Lahey, Toronto. He is also survived by grandchildren, Laura, Kevin, Emily, Jesse, Paige, Cohen; several step grandchildren; sister, Anna (Danny) Corbett, Digby and two brothers. He was predeceased by son, Randy Dale Elliott and grandson, Chase Randall Elliott and step-daughter, Tammy Lahey. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Tiverton Christian Church with Lou Outhouse officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. By request, family flowers only. Donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the Tiverton Christian Church.
