Regret to notify you of the recent death of John Nixon in London, Ontario.
John graduated from RHC Depot in Sussex with 75 Squad in late 1958 and was assigned to 2nd Black Watch. He served with 2nd Battalion in Gagetown, German and Cyprus, and spent much of his time in Pioneer Platoon. He re-badged to 2RCR in 1970.
He had recently moved to London, Ontario to be near his son.

NIXON, John Gilbert - Passed away suddenly at Victoria Hospital, London, on Sunday October 30, 2011, one day short of his 84th birthday. Beloved husband of Alice (Brown) Nixon. Dear father of Perry “Humphrey“ Nixon and Donna Crawford (Rik). Also loved by his 5 grandchildren Daniel McLeod (Stacey Fleming), Lee Collins (Crystal), Jessica Crawford (Jeff), Ashley Haagsman (Bryan) and Megan Crawford (Holly), and by his 7 great- grandchildren Andrew, Destiny, Riley, Joseph, Samantha, Cayden and Caroline. Predeceased by his brothers Charles, Ron, Ernest, Harry and sisters Pearl and Alice. Visitation will be held at FOREST LAWN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1997 Dundas Street (at Wavell), London, on Wednesday November 2nd from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service to be held in the chapel on Thursday November 3rd at 1 P.M. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations appreciated to the Alzheimer Society. Online condolences accepted at
