Greetings from Vancouver Island. As a boy and young man,. i often visited the Armory on Bluery st. with my grandad, Cpl. Robert (BO Campbell 13th. Btl/Royal 42nd. reg. one of the last survivors of the second battle of YPRES. Every year we would go to the reunion until the last few left were just too old to attend,. then we would toast the 13th. at our home in ILE PERROT. I am trying to convince my little brother (60 years old) to travel to YPRES in 2015 for the 100th. anniversary of the battle and stand by the MENNAN gate while the band plays TAPS. Any plans by the 42 nd,or private persons to attend? GREAT SITE. WILL visit often. GLENN PURCELL GLENN.BIGBEAR@GMAIL.COM
