VYE, Capt (Ret'd) Francis A. (Sandy) 11 Years, 9 Months ago  
Dear Comrades:
Regret to inform you that Sandy Vye, a member of the Pacific Coast Branch and the Atlantic Branch, passed away in Sidney BC on Friday June 28, 2013. Sandy joined the Regular Force in 1951, serving first with the Canadian Scottish Regiment in 1 CHB in Hanover Germany. Before retiring in 1972 he served several tours in 1 RHC, a one year tour with the ICC (International Control Commission) in Indo China, a tech staff training course in Shrivenham England, and staff appointments in Cyprus, CFB Gagetown and CFB Chilliwack. Information on a memorial service will be passed when known.

With Sandy's passing, there are only two surviving original 1st Canadian Highland Battalion officers who remained with the Regular Force: Craig Cameron and Bud George.

Further to this earlier message re Sandy, a memorial service will be held for him on Thursday, August 22 between 1300 and 1400 hrs at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, Victoria BC.
